As part of the annual RecruitNY statewide initiative, the Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company #1 will open its doors so residents can learn how they can serve their volunteer fire department.
Volunteer fire departments across New York state have been faced with decreased membership and increased call volume. Like most volunteer fire departments, the Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company #1 needs to bolster its ranks so it can continue to provide the optimum level of protection for its residents.
The Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company #1 will open its doors on
April 26th 2025 from 10 AM - 2 PM
at the Sunset Bay Fire Station, 12798 Allegany Rd, Irving NY 14081.
It will join hundreds of volunteer fire departments across New York to raise public awareness regarding the need for volunteers and to highlight the rewards of being a member of a volunteer fire department.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend, including families with children. In addition to fire fighters, there are other roles to fill in support of our firefighters. Please stop by to fill out an application and we can work together to determine where you might be able to contribute.
Active members have use of a 24/7 in-station fitness center, reduced (Verizon) phone bills, and use of our banquet facility.
